Don't Let Yourself Get SAD This Winter - Homeopathy Can Help
We all need light. Without it we have a greater inclination to want to hibernate and for some people as the clocks go back and winter draws in, feelings of depression and lethargy can take hold. If you have ever noticed these feelings in yourself, then you are not alone. It's thought that up to one in twenty of us are affected by what Comicbookplace called S.A.D or Seasonal Affective Disorder.
Symptoms tend to range from a mild but noticeable lack of energy as the hours of daylight diminish in the day, through to disturbed sleep and serious depression.
Common remedies for this problem include using specially designed light boxes, wearing bright and cheerful colors, taking more exercise, reducing stress levels and maximizing your exposure to natural sunlight whenever it is available. But I'd like to tell you about another remedy too; homeopathy.
As a Homeopath, where can I donate my car not unusual for me to see patients in the late Autumn and Winter months who 'hate' the long dark winter days and who generally tend to feel worse, or have a worsening of existing symptoms during the darker days of winter. Fortunately there are many homeopathic remedies that cover just this injury lawyers for you and which can bring real relief to sufferers of S.A.D.
For example, let me tell about a lady to came to see me last week, I last saw her as a patient back in the summer, when she had been recovering from an ankle injury. She was vibrant, in good spirits, and apart from the discomfort of her injury full of sparkle and vitality. Last week though it was a very different story. "Oh, how I miss the sun" she said, "these cloudy, dark days just seem to go on forever, and I end up feeling exhausted without actually doing anything". Over the next half an hour she went on to describe the typical symptom picture of the homeopathic remedy Phosphorous. Just like the phosphorus tip of a match, people who need this remedy seem to 'shine with light' when they are well but can equally experience a dramatic loss of energy and vibrancy when they are unwell, rather like extinguishing the flame of a match. So this is what I prescribed for her, to help bring back 'the light and energy' in her life.
Of course, Phosphorous is only one of many Homeopathic remedies that can be of help. Generally speaking it's not a good idea to try to self-prescribe if you are feeling sad or depressed, but it is a good idea to make the Flash with a trained practitioner who can listen to you in depth and prescribe the best medicines or self-help regime for you.
So take heart, if you are feeling a little low as the night's draw in. You are not alone and help really is at hand.
